Course Information: Internet, Ebay and Safe SurfingAbout this courseYou will learn how to use the internet to book holidays, shop online and use ebay to but and sell goods safely. The emphasis of the course is using the internet safely to protect your personal information and computer system. Course entry requirementsYou will need to be computer literate to get the best from this course. Ideally you will have completed a Start Computing course or a New Clait course. You should be able to use a keyboard and mouse, use Microsoft Windows, menus and be able to open and save files.
You will need a reasonable level of reading and writing in English. You will need to be able to understand written and spoken instructions and be able to read simple handouts. What will I learn?How to protect the computer users in your household from unwanted internet intrusions. Issues such as Pop up adverts, identity theft, viruses, cookies, hackers and safe downloads are all covered as part of the course.
How to search and shop on EBAY.
The course will also look at online forms, government websites, paying bills online.
Assessment and accreditationThis course does not have any official certificate as it is designed around a basic keep safe on the Internet structure with your ideas incorporated.
Continual assessment is agreed between you and your tutor developing either a paper or online portfolio of evidence.
