Course Information: Start ComputingAbout this courseThe course is designed to introduce the basic elements of using a computer to anyone with limited or no knowledge. The course is built around your needs and the emphasis is on practical life skills and how a computer can be used to enhance your day-to-day life. Course entry requirementsThe course is for anyone who is just starting with computers. You do not need any knowledge or skills to start this course.
You will need a basic level of reading and writing in English. You will need to be able to understand and follow simple written and spoken instructions. What will I learn?You will learn how to use the mouse and keyboard. You will be introduced to the computer desktop and windows and learn how to produce a basic word processed letter or document. If time allows, the course will look at accessing the internet safely and to find information on the web. You will learn the importance of saving a files and how to find them later. Printing is covered on the courses to ensure you print what you want and dont waste paper. Assessment and accreditation This course is not accredited. What should I bring?A pen and a note pad. What should I do next?After completion of this course you can progress on to a First steps course or New CLAiT.
