Our academies are education and training packages linked to local jobs.
We’re currently offering academies for care and support, cleaning, hospitality, and security. All four are delivered from the Multi-Media Exchange, our learning centre in central Middlesbrough, opposite Jobcentre Plus on Corporation Road.
Our academies last for one to two weeks, and often include:
- an introduction to the area of work (care and support, cleaning, hospitality, or security)
- effective communication skills
- manual handling
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
- basic life support (first aid)
- Level 1 Food Hygiene
- a short work placement or work trial
- guaranteed interview, interview support, and reference
- help with DBS (criminal record) checks
- safeguarding
- digital skills (care and support)
- basic DIY (care and support)
Our security academy is delivered by our commissioning partner, Associated Risks Group (ARG).
